Song of the Day – “Name’s the same” Tuesday – “Keep Moving”

Madness – Ivy

Keep Moving is Madness’ 1984 follow-up to the hit sessions which resulted in “Our House”. The Langer/Winstanley production, as with Elvis Costello’s Punch the Clock, is so slick it takes the edge off. That makes the album a great listen, but not essential.

.

Ivy is a side project of one of the most prolific guys out there, Adam Schlesinger. With Fountains of Wayne, he lets his quirky side come out; with Tinted Windows, it’s power pop. And with the icy voice of Dominique Durand, it’s his cool, detached side.
