Song of the Day – “Kicks” – Paul Revere and the Raiders

We lost another of the greats earlier this week when Paul Revere left this world at the appropriate age of 76.

The Raiders were an American version of the British Invasion groups, formed by Revere and lead vocalist Mark Lindsay in the early sixties. Revere is the actual given name of the keyboard player, and it was too memorable for them to name the band after anyone or anything else.

This, their most famous song, was penned by the songwriting team of Mann and Weil, and is from Midnight Ride, released in May of 1966.
