Song of the Day – “The King of Rock ‘n Roll” – Prefab Sprout

Paddy McAloon’s band had their biggest hit which, according to Wikipedia, “makes reference to a washed-up ’50s star who is only remembered for his one-hit novelty song, which is sung in the chorus.”

It’s from 1988’s From Langley Park to Memphis, and it hit #7 in the UK.
