Song of the Day – “Name’s the same” Tuesday – “She’s Gone”

Hall and Oates – Dozier Boys

From the Old Grey Whistle Test, a program “from the other side of the pond”. This early hit of rock’s most famous duo shows that they were both important to the sound – something that got a bit lost when they took over the airwaves in the eighties.

I get chills when I hear the chords delivered by the Dozier Boys on this doo-wop classic from 1950.

They were from the south side of Chicago, and their fame never really reached much further than that. But they would give the Mills Brothers a run for their money, in my opinion, and that’s quite a compliment.
