Badfinger – Gene Vincent

Badfinger was a band that knew how to make singles. On this album, Straight Up from 1971, Badfinger worked with three different producers – Geoff Emerick, George Harrison and Todd Rundgren. Quite a trio.

Notice the person who introduces them in this clip – a very young Kenny Rogers, from his First Edition days.

The movie is Hot Rod Gang, obviously a low-budget rebellious teen potboiler from the late fifties. Vincent had broken into the scene with “Be-bop-a-lula”, and this song followed almost two years later.
