Song of the Day – “Name’s the same” Tuesday – “(This Could Be) The Last Time”

The Rolling Stones – Squeeze

Before you start complaining, by the rules of parenthetical statements, both of these songs are actually named “The Last Time”. Furthermore, they both use the entire phrase “this could be the last time”.

This track hit #9 for the Stones back in early 1965. It’s a very “garage rock” song, and there are obvious cross-influences on bands like the Troggs and the Animals.

This track from 1989’s Frank proves that Difford and Tilbrook always deliver, even on an “album” track on a “minor” album.
