Song of the Day – “Name’s the same” Tuesday – “Good Good Lovin’”

James Brown – 1910 Fruitgum Company

This combination amuses me. Get over it.

The Fabulous Flames back the Godfather of Soul in this track from August of 1959. Compact late-fifties R&B, before Mr. Brown really broke out into a cold sweat.

No soul here – just bubblegum. The 1910 Fruigum Company was a studio group that gave us “Simon Says”, “1, 2, 3 Red Light”, “Goody Goody Gumdrops”, and “Indian Giver”. They created a lot of product in a short time – this song was from their fourth of five albums, all within two years.
